Captain/Owner Bio
Member of Saint Francis Yacht Club, Board Director, Finance Committee and Chairman of Long Range Planning Committee. Grew up in NC sailing Lasers regionally. Following a term of duty as a US Army Bandsman and a college degree from NCSU, I moved to CA as employee 211 at Genentech in South San Francisco. I flipped to the dark side with the purchase of my first power boat in 1985 and have never looked back. My wife Penny, who is a leading Silicon Valley marketing executive and I have enjoyed cruising Preference in MX, SoCal, and the Pacific Northwest over the last decade.

Favorite Cruising Destination
Spending time with family and friends anchored out in some beautiful setting.

Favorite Boating Experience
Hard to pick one. I suppose the satisfaction from participating in the roundup of several thousand head of cattle each year and the hauling of those cattle to and from the mainland seasonally!

Previous Boats Owned
40′ Carver gasser and a Four Winns trailer boat. We also own a 34′ Pursuit picnic boat and a Malibu tournament style ski boat.

Boating Story:
After many hundreds of successful anchorings, we wrapped a prop not once but twice in one day while cruising in MX. The hookah was a real life-saver.
